The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital



The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital aims to provide the very best patient care possible including a clinical pathway to assist in improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people attending the hospital. The hospital strives to apply new and effective models of care, invest in research and training and share of their knowledge to improve eye and ear health. 

The hospital's Aboriginal Health Plan is aligned with the key result areas of the Improving Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Patients (ICAP) program and focuses on improving service provision to Aboriginal patients by taking a service wide approach. There is an appointed Aboriginal Health Committee to oversee the Aboriginal Health Plan with the aim of improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal patients of the hospital. The hospital also actively participate in programs such as eye and ear screening for Aboriginal children in the community.
