Aurukun Wik Mungkan Indigenous Knowledge Centre

 

Description

The Aurukun Wik Mungkan Indigenous Knowledge Centre is a partnership between the Aurukun Shire Council and the State Library of Queensland (Qld). The centre is a place for Aurukun’s Aboriginal culture and history with space for community members to hold cultural events, to get together and to share knowledge.

The centre engages local Aboriginal people in a number of ways:

The centre also aims to provide economic opportunities for Aboriginal people in Qld.
