Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub

 

Description

The Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub (ESCC) is a partnership of Australia's leading Earth systems and climate change research institutions. The role of the ESCC is to ensure that Australia's policies and management decisions are effectively informed by Earth systems and climate change science, now and into the future.

The ESCC is hosted by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and is one of the six hubs supported by funding through the Australian Government's National Environmental Science Programme.

The ESCC has a commitment to delivering information to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities on why the climate is changing, how this might impact on country and communities, and what might need to be done to protect cultural heritage and sacred sites. The ESCC also aim to integrate traditional climate knowledge into their activities, to complement and benefit their research and impact.
