Clarence Valley Aboriginal Healing Centre

Description

The Clarence Valley Aboriginal Healing Centre is a community owned and controlled service for the five Aboriginal communities of Grafton, Yamba, Nackean, Baryulgil and Malabugilmah in the Clarence Valley region of New South Wales.

The Centre aims to facilitate any improvement in the lives of Aboriginal people, either individually or collectively. They do this through programs and activities such as hosting the annual Apology Day; running a women’s group; conducting cultural excursions to places of significance; holding cultural expression events; creating a community garden that has a focus on local plants used in food or medicine.

The Centre has an advisory committee and operates the Grafton Aboriginal Women's Wellbeing Group and bush tucker/medicine garden.

The Clarence Valley Healing Centre development is funded by the Healing Foundation.
