Foodswell is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote and contribute to the prevention of disease caused by poor diet, inadequate nutrition and associated social, emotional and environmental determinants of good health.
The organisation aims to bring together both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to enable people to work together to better access sustainable, regular, healthy food.
The key purposes of Foodswell are to:
Foodswell initiates, endorses and delivers creative projects, programs and enterprises that aim to build the capacity of individuals and communities to access healthy, reliable, sustainable food and prevent disease. Foodswell additionally undertakes research, education and related activities to address challenges to the diversity and sustainability of Australia's food systems, and the cultural, economic and environmental integrity of the resources that healthy people and communities rely upon.
