Environs Kimberley

Description

Environs Kimberley (EK) is the peak environmental organisation for the Kimberley region in north-west Australia, and aims to protect the natural environment of the region.

Founded in 1996, the organisation works collaboratively with others to achieve biodiversity protection, environmental awareness, sustainable land management and appropriate development. EK works on a range of natural and cultural resource management and conservation projects, facilitates environmental research and education, and is a main point of contact for community, government and industry on regional conservation matters.

EK additionally works with a number of Indigenous ranger groups and traditional owners to protect and conserve local environments, develop biological monitoring protocols, and assist in building skills in ecological management, weed control, fire management and feral animal control.
