Umulliko Indigenous Higher Education Research Centre

 

Description

Umulliko Indigenous Higher Education Research Centre is the primary focus of research and research training at The Wollotuka Institute at The University of Newcastle in New South Wales (NSW) and provides students with the cultural, personal and research support required enabling them to complete their research higher degrees.

Umulliko has a strong commitment to local Indigenous communities and issues and engages with Indigenous researchers across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Canada, the United States of America and Finland.

Umullikp provides theses supervision and a range material resources such as financial support, study rooms, professional development workshops, conference attendance support, and statistical support for students.

Umulliko runs a series of research seminars and public lectures and professional development workshops specifically designed to assist research higher degree candidates to develop their research and thesis writing skills.

The centre was established in 1996 with special funding from the Australian Commonwealth Government.
