Gwen Scott Diabetes Professional Development Grant Program

Overview

This grant program provides financial support to Victorian (Vic) health professionals who are members of Diabetes Vic. The program aims to increase health professionals’ knowledge and understanding of diabetes, management strategies and health promotion while giving them networking opportunities with others that have an interest in the diabetes field.

Diabetes Vic established the Gwen Scott grant program in 2006 as part of their commitment to support Vic health professionals who work with people with diabetes and towards prevention. Gwen Scott was Australia’s first nurse employed as a specialist in diabetes education and the first employee of the Diabetic Association of Vic which is Diabetes Vic today.

The Gwen Scott grant program is based upon the merit of each individual’s proposal.

Applications for the 2017 program will resume in April 2017. The amount per grant and number of grants will depend on the quality and number of applications received.
