Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (HLT40113)



Target audience: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who are currently working in a primary health care setting

Course summary: This qualification can lead to other higher level Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker qualifications at Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels. These workers can assume a variety of job roles and undertake a broad range of tasks either individually or as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

There are no prerequisites for admission to this course.

Over an 18 month period students need to complete fourteen core and seven elective units to achieve the qualification of HLT40113. Elective units comprise of four prescribed units and three units to be determined after a pre-training review.

The course covers a range of topics such as:
