Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (HLT30113)



Target audience: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who are working in the community

Course summary: This course is aimed at recognising and improving the skills and knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health workers. 

Completion of this qualification may be regarded as the minimum level for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health work and provides broad entry level skills in primary health care.

There are no prerequisites for admission to this course.

Delivery mode is flexible and if students are not employed then supervised practical placements will be required to enable competencies to be demonstrated in a workplace environment. Where students are not employed, practical placement will be required.  It is recommended that 250 hours of work placement be undertaken across the core of the qualification.

Students need to complete twelve core and five elective units to achieve the qualification of HLT30113.
