Indigenous LGBTI Inclusive Practices in Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

 

Overview

This half or one-day course aims to improve access to mental health services for Indigenous and non-Indigenous lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people.

The course describes the ways in which marginalisation and discrimination impact the health of LGBTI people. It also identifies strategies to create a more welcoming and inclusive health care environment for LGBTI people.

The training is suitable for health workers, individuals and community members.

The training is facilitated by Dameyon Bonson, Dr Yunupingu Human Right Award Winner and Founder of the Black Rainbow Living Well Foundation.
