Motivational Interviewing Training for Tackling Indigenous Smoking

 

Overview

Target audience: Anyone working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Course summary: This short course is a two day nationally recognised training designed to develop the skills of Quitskills graduates in providing smoking cessation support.

The training provides participants with enhanced knowledge, skills and confidence to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to think about their smoking and make some changes.

After successful completion of the training, participants will receive an academic transcript from TAFE South Australia for the following competency:

Nurses and other registered health professionals are eligible for 12 Continuing Professional Development points (CPD).

Fee payable: Free to anyone working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Delivery mode: Locations vary depending on participants

Financial support for Indigenous students: Not applicable
