Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (CHC43215)

 

Overview

Target audience: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people interested in or already working in the alcohol and other drugs sector

Course summary: The Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs is initially being offered to people who have completed the Certificate III in Community Services delivered by the Mental Commission. The training builds on knowledge and skills in responding to drug and alcohol issues and related harms in Aboriginal communities. In addition, the training provides information on mental health issues and co-occurring disorders. The program is made up of a range of learning strategies including training blocks and on-the-job learning which lead to a nationally recognised qualification. The program runs for a 12 month period which require four training blocks, all of which are one week long.

Financial support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students: ABSTUDY travel and accommodation allowance is available for eligible non-metropolitan participants who are willing to apply.
