Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Prevention in Aboriginal Communities

 

Overview

This workshop offers free training in Perth, Western Australia, on working with Aboriginal women of child bearing age, to improve their awareness of Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). Culturally secure strategies for reducing alcohol-related harm during pregnancy is a central focus of the workshop.

The training covers the following topics:

The workshop is open to community service providers from all sectors who work with Aboriginal women, as well as their families and communities. The workshop content has been endorsed by the Australian College of Nursing (ACN), and attracts six Royal College of Nursing Australia points for nurses.
