Towards a United Voice for the Aboriginal Housing Sector Ministerial Launch

Overview

Family and Community Services and Social Housing Minister for New South Wales (NSW), Brad Hazzard, will launch the move to establish an Aboriginal housing peak body in NSW.

The peak body will ensure that Aboriginal housing providers have an independent collective voice. It will provide support for the sector's capacity and make sure it is represented in consultation and negotiations with government and non-government bodies. The peak body will also ensure that Aboriginal housing providers have access to high quality advice and support, and have the opportunity to collectively discuss and determine their position on key proposals.

All are invited to attend the launch to show their support for the Aboriginal housing sector. The launch will be followed by a workshop for Aboriginal community housing providers which will include presentations on asset management and preparing for property transfer.
