Quitskills Refresher Course (Western Australia)

 

Overview

This training is offered through Cancer Council South Australia (SA) and has been tailored to suit the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers and professionals, or non-Indigenous workers and professionals who work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients who would like to quit smoking, or are thinking about quitting.

The training is a one day workshop. Participants have the opportunity to revisit knowledge, skills and confidence in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make some changes to their smoking behaviours, which have been learned in other workshops.

Potential participants should note that this training is for those who have already covered other training in this set.

The topics revisited will include:

Units of competency upon completion of this training may be negotiated with TAFE SA. Potential participants should inquire further.

Nurses and other registered health professionals should inquire about Continuing Professional Development points (CPD).
