What is a portal?

The workforce portals, on the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet, focus on a key topic areas of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

The portals support the workforce by providing key facts, resources, and other essential information which:
• can be accessed quickly and efficiently
• has immediate, practical use
• adds to the worker’s understanding of a topic
• is written in plain language.

By providing workers with quick and easy access to the most relevant and current information, evidenced-based health information can be used to inform practice and policy, leading ultimately to better health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
