Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker qualifications stakeholder engagement paper

SkillsIQ, on behalf of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Industry Reference Committee (IRC), is seeking input from industry to capture perspectives on the issues raised by the IRC and any other feedback raised by industry. Feedback received will inform the development of a Case for Change to be submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) requesting an update to existing qualifications.

The VET qualifications that are to be considered for inclusion in the Case for Change are:

The IRC is looking for further information on the career structures that the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker workforce currently has in place, in order to determine how qualifications are aligned to these structures and also to gain further clarity around similarities between different job roles. It has been noted that across the various State and Territory jurisdictions, different job roles exist and in some cases these different job roles have similar functions.
