CRANAplus Annual Conference opens in Broome, Western Australia

Despite the heat and humidity in beautiful Broome, Western Australia remote health professionals from across the country joined in the annual CRANAplus 2017 Conference welcome ceremony last night. Ms Janet Fletcher, Manager Nauiyu Health Centre, Daly River, Northern Territory (NT) and Dr Ann Aitken, Director Nursing and Midwifery, and Facility Manager, Atherton Hospital, Queensland were inducted as CRANAplus Fellows.

Patricia Magee, a well-known remote area nurse in the NT was honoured with a Life Membership of CRANAplus.

A busy few days of education course delivery in Broome culminated last night in the welcoming ceremony of the 2017 CRANAplus conference. To ensure that attendees have the opportunity to maximise their conference experience, CRANAplus ran a Maternity Emergency Care Course, Practical Skills Course, Remote Management Course and Advanced Life Support Course prior, and will be running a Remote Emergency Care Course, Paediatric Emergency Care Course, and Advanced Remote Emergency Care Course following the conference in Broome.

The CRANAplus Annual General Meeting was held and Paul Stephenson, Chair of CRANAplus welcomed Claire Boardman as the latest member of the Board of Directors. The annual report was released and can now be accessed here.
