Invite to participate in the Healing Sector Pilot Survey

Date posted: 13 October 2017

Since the establishment of the Healing Foundation, there has been a significant growth in awareness of the impacts of trauma on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the need for trauma-informed services to support healing. There has also been a growth in recognition of the need for healing as a means to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across key domains in the government and non-government health, justice and human services sector.

Healing is supported by a diverse range of services and programs, some of which identify healing as their primary goal while others support healing through provision of trauma-informed service or by supporting local healing initiatives. In the absence of a peak body for healing services, there is currently no reliable data to demonstrate the breadth and diversity of the healing sector in Australia.

In order for the Healing Foundation to support and strengthen the Australian healing sector, the Healing Foundation need to clearly identify their constituents and understand the role that different services and programs play in supporting healing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Healing Foundation is inviting those services that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healing to provide feedback about their service and views on this survey and future communications with the healing sector.

It is estimated that the survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

To complete the survey click here.

The survey is open until Friday 27th October 2017.
