Free Perth Royal Show tickets for disadvantaged families

Date posted: 18 September 2017

Disadvantaged families will be able to visit the Perth Royal Show for free or at a reduced cost after the state government presented a $350,000 grant to the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia.

The grant will allow community organisations which support Aboriginal groups, migrant communities, senior, people with disabilities and poor people to distribute the free and subsidised tickets to their members.

Agriculture and Food Minister Alannah MacTiernan said on Friday the grant would help around 38,000 people.

'This grant will help 38,000 Western Australians facing challenges with their entry to the show, to see first-hand the important contribution our agricultural sector makes across the state,' she said.
