World Kidney Day and Kidney Health Week (Australia)

Date posted: 22 February 2017

An annual global campaign since 2006, World Kidney Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of kidneys to an individual’s overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

In 2017, Kidney Health Australia is aligning Kidney Health Week with World Kidney Day, which falls on Thursday 9 March. Kidney Health Week will run from 5–11 March.

This year, the theme for both awareness events is Kidney disease and obesity – healthy lifestyle for healthy kidneys.

To get involved and share the message about the prevention and detection of kidney disease, register your interest in Kidney Health Week 2017 by email: events@kidney.org.au.
